In many countries, paying for things using mobile phone (cellphone) apps is becoming increasingly common.


Does this development have some advantages or more disadvantages?




INTRODUCTION


Paying for shopping, dining and other expenses using payment platforms based on mobile applications has grown largely in recent years, thanks to cashless trends and the increasing feasibility of paying with phone applications. Undoubtedly this radical shift from cash to cashless has brought a big deal of benefits in the form of convenience like not having to worry about a big sump of cash to carry with oneself while shopping and these applications are based on very secure techniques.

One of the main advantages of making payments with a mobile application is the convenience it brings to the user. All these modern payment platforms are user-friendly which facilitates the user to scan any QR code with the help of a mobile camera to send or receive any amount of payment in fractions of a second without the hassle of carrying cash, thus, giving a sense of freedom.

Another effective advantage is that all these payment platforms are backed with the most advanced technologies. These technologies enable the user to safely pay or transfer to another user without any worries. For example, Google Pay, Paytm etcetera are all modern platforms to make any kind of payment and these payments are end to end encrypted to keep the user data safe at all times. It is, nonetheless, the most important matter of concern for all while making any financial transactions.
