Introduction
Ever since the dawn of
modern ways of inter-continent transportation, travel for work or to spend
holidays have skyrocketed. It is believed that in the near future people will
opt for spending their leisure time exploring their home countries instead of foreign
countries. This essay tends to believe in this statement as people are getting
to know about the tourist sites in their countries and the travel restrictions
due to the covid-19 pandemic will make people unable to travel abroad.

A lot of countries are now
spending a huge amount of money to promote tourism towards their own tourist
sites in order to boost the economy. This strategy is being fruitful as people
from within their countries are changing their holiday destinations from abroad
to their own country. Moreover, due to this, the tourist sites are getting
improved as more and more people are visiting these places. This ultimately is
amplifying the local GDP.

Another aspect that leads
to changes in people’s holiday choices is the ongoing covid pandemic. Since the
covid pandemic hit humanity almost all nations closed their borders. The
situation is still almost the same and the overseas travel restrictions will
change people’s perception while planning their holidays. For example, my uncle
used to travel to Europe with his family every year. But now due to these
extraordinary situations, they prefer to spend time in at Indian destinations.
Conclusion
To recapitulate, traveling
abroad to spend holidays will be reduced which will direct travelers towards
local destinations, owing to the improvements in local facilities and overseas
travel ban.
