Describe a school/college event that you remember well.
You should say-
What the event was
What happened during it
Who was there
And explain why you remember this event well.
There are several events which had happened in my school and college time, but one such event which I can remember well that I would like to mention here.
It was a time when I was in the first year of my graduation course at Kurukshetra University, the event was named Saraswati Mahotsav.
At the time I got to know that every once in three years University organizes this event in order to celebrate as well as letting youngsters be in touch with their culture (especially Haryana’s culture and traditions).
Several events are organized to perform in front of the audience.
And not just the state Haryana students but participants from all over India wait for this event in order to show their talent.
The name of the event was given after the Hindu mythology goddess Saraswati since she is considered to be the epitome of art and education.
This event is celebrated since the establishment of the university.
That year I and my friends reached the venue of the event which was in the auditorium hall on the 25th of November.
The event was inaugurated by the Chief guest who was the Chancellor of the university himself, at 10 a.m. with worshipping goddess Saraswati and lighting a lamp in front of the Saraswati idol.
Several recreational programs such as dancing, singing, skits, and speech competitions were performed by the participating candidates who were from the Kurukshetra University, its affiliated colleges along with other state colleges and universities.
The performers delineated their traditions and classical music and dance forms.
Even me and my friends also participated in an open stage contest and showcased our dancing and singing abilities.
The event continued for seven days and the last performance was given by Punjab University performing Bhangra which is a cultural dance form. And this set the audience into humongous applause.
At last, the outstanding performance was awarded by the chief guest himself.
My friends and I enjoyed this event and it became the most memorable moment of my life that I can never forget in my whole life.
Alas, it only happens after every three years and I wished to enjoy it every year.
But I guess we all must enjoy our present and would not regret some events. I would also wait to attend this event next year even if I am no longer a student at the university.
