59. Tell me about your country?
I belong to India. My Country is a place of saints
and sages. People of this country, are religious, spiritual and peace loving.
It has a great heritage and rich culture and tradition. For effective
governance the whole country divided into 29+ states. Every state has a number
of cities and villages. Approximately 70% people in my country live in
villages.
60. Do all the people in your country follow same
culture and single religion?
People in my country follow different religions and
variety of cultures. My country is divided into 28 states and every state has
its own language and culture. But, there are four main religions. All the
religions are equally respected and any one can see unity in diversity in my
country.
61. What are the famous places to visit in your
country?
The places of visit which are popular are: the
historical places in Delhi, Agra, Mumbai, and Kolkata along with these the
places of spiritual importance are also popular. Likewise South of India is popular for
beautiful and attractive temples.
62. What
would you suggest to a visitor from overseas country to see in your country?
My country is a land of temples and spiritual places
so it has a great religious and spiritual important also. I will suggest the
overseas visitor to see beautiful monuments which tell their own history. I
would recommend temples which speak themselves about their religious importance.
To enjoy natural sceneries and varied climate on hill stations, I will prefer a
person to go Himachal Pradesh and Jammu Kashmir.
63. Tell me about the kind of tourists visiting your
country?
Generally, tourists visit my country to study the
history, culture and religion. Mostly they visit the historical places and
places of religious and spiritual importance. These tourists are from different
parts of the world. They really come to explore India. India has a vast
potential as far as its geographic diversity is concerned.
64. Where do you see foreign visitors in your city
these days?
These days, I see foreign visitors at tourist places
in Chandigarh. The popular places of their like are: Lake, museum, art gallery,
rock garden and they even like to visit some international schools also.
65. Is there any traditional art or music in your
country which you can suggest to a foreign visitor?
My country is divided into states and every state
has its own traditional art and music. Likewise, in Punjab, traditional art
Phulkari and music Gidda and Bhangra is famous. In the same way Rajasthan based
handcraft, puppet making and music is very famous, I will recommend every
foreign visitor to enjoy all these. Moreover, I would also like them to visit
many famous historical schools of art and music.
66. In which part of your country do you live?
I live in Panchkula near Chandigarh. This city is in
Haryana State which is in Northern part of my country. It is an urban area
which is well planned. Organized and developed city. This place is presently
becoming an attraction for establishment of multi-national companies.
67. What do you like about your country?
I like the culture and tradition of this country.
Along with this, I also like the helpful attitude of people. People treat guest
as God. My country is home of diversity but diversity is united through garland
of love and mutual respect. Different historical and other tourist places make
it incredible.
68. What are the existing problems in your country?
My country is a developing country and there are a
number of tribulations in my country like; increasing population is the biggest
threat in progress of my country. Along with this illiteracy, unemployment and
pollution are the major dilemma in our country. Another problem that is raising
its hood is the traffic on the roads.
69. How would you improve your country?
I think individually, it is very difficult to
improve but if the citizens join hands to help Government then it is possible
to improve. The first and foremost is corruption and then unemployment which I
would like to improve.
70. Which part of your country do most people live
in?
My country is divided into four regions. All the
regions are well developed but most of the people in my country live in
villages. It is known that around 80% of whole population lives and works in
villages.
71. Tell me about the main industries in your
country?
My country is a developing country. These days the
country is progressing in all the fields. Not only this, many multi-national
companies are establishing their business in my country. In industrial sector,
the main industries include iron and steel, rubber and plastic, textile, coal
and petroleum, IT and many more. All these are helping to improve the economy
of the country.
72. How easy is it to travel around your country?
Transport system in my country is well developed.
These days, it is very easy to travel around my country. My country has a
varied transport system which includes buses, taxis, trains, and airplanes.
People can opt any according to their need and convenience. These days I observe
pocket friendly air-fares are encouraging people to take more air journeys.
73. Has your country changed since your childhood?
Yes, my country has changed a lot since my
childhood. It has developed in all the sectors like: industrial, education, IT,
medical and transportation. Now, in every sector, work is done through new
technology. Many big industries and infrastructure have come up in my country.
Multinational companies are also showing keen interest to establish their
outlets and offices.
COOKING
74. Do you like cooking?
Yes, I like cooking. I cook food daily for my family
and prepare special dishes on festivals, family functions and celebration. It’s
my hobby too.
75. Who taught you cooking?
I didn’t get any formal training in cooking. From my
childhood, I observed my mother cooking in the Kitchen and I automatically
learnt to cook. For cooking Special dishes, my mother helped me.
76. Which food items do you like to cook?
I like to cook many vegetarian food items like rice,
vegetables, pulses vegetable soups, puddings and oiled chapattis popularly
Known as pranthas. Along with this, I also like to cook Chinese and Italian
dishes.
77. Who cooks food at your home?
Usually my mother cooks food at my home but
sometimes I help her in cooking. Since she is the head of the family and knows
our taste of various food items so she takes the responsibility of cooking food
at home.
78. Do you see
yourself cooking more in future?
Yes, I feel
that I will be cooking more in the future. As I am planning to study overseas,
I will be living there away from my family so I think I will be cooking more.
In addition to this, I am learning to prepare new dishes which I will practice
later. So this will give me an opportunity to cook more in future.
79. What was the last meal you cooked?
I cooked my last meal today in the morning before
coming for the test. The meal was spicy mixed vegetable and chapattis. I also
prepared fried rice with tomato soup. This is the dish my daughter likes most.
80. Do you prefer home- cooked food or food from
restaurants? Why?
I prefer home-cooked food. I think it is more
hygienic and cooked with love. After having home-cooked food, I feel contented
and satisfied.
81. In your country, is cooking a man’s job or
woman’s job?
In my country cooking is completely woman’s job.
People in my country even make fun of men who cook food. It is fixed in
everyone’s mind that the kitchen is only for women. She has to cook and serve
the family. Furthermore, since childhood mother inspires a girl child to cook
tasty food to make her family happy.
82. How do you feel about eating food from another
country?
These days Chinese food is becoming very popular in
my country. It is spicy, tasty, and I also like to eat Chinese for a change of
taste. Though I feel it’s more of non-vegetarian, but I love to eat anything
vegetarian.
83. What do you mean by hygienic food?
Food which is clean and rich in nutrients like
vitamins, minerals, proteins and carbohydrates is called hygienic food. It is
prepared and consumed in short period of time without the threat of external
diseases like from flies etc.
