201. Did you wear uniform in your school?
School uniform is an essential part of school in my
country. It is part of strict discipline and compulsory for all the students. I
studied in an English medium school. My dress was white shirt and blue trousers
with a school tie, belt and black shoes. After wearing uniform, I always found
myself confident and smart.

schools? (why/why not)
School should have uniform to maintain uniformity
among students and it is necessary for discipline in the school. It is an
identity of a school and also, it inculcates the feelings of equality among
students.

203. Do you read newspaper?
Yes, I read newspapers regularly. I love reading
English as well as Hindi newspapers which keep me updated to the latest
happenings in the society, nationally and internationally. While reading
newspaper, one feels connected to the society.
204. Are you a regular newspaper reader?
My day starts with reading newspaper. Usually, I
like to read newspaper daily with a cup of tea. My interest lies in English as
well as Hindi newspaper. Sport and Bollywood sections are my favorite.

I read
English newspaper, specially ‘The Tribune’, the most popular English newspaper.
It is a 20 paged newspaper which covers many topics like education, sport,
health, medical, politics, business and much more.

I am more inclined towards reading local, political,
sports and Bollywood news; such news aware me with daily happenings and changes
in different walks of life.
207. Do you prefer to read newspapers or watch news
on TV?
I prefer both. In the morning, I read newspaper and
in the evening I watch news on TV. On television, it’s interesting to view and
listen both as it is an audio and visual aid. However, newspaper gives detailed
news. It also helps to improve reading skills and vocabulary.

Not much but sometimes when I work on internet, I
check the latest news updates. Its major advantage is that news gets updated
every hour.

I am in a habit of reading newspaper daily in the
morning. Today, I read news related to the sports star Sachin Tendulkar. The
news was about the charity work in which he participated. He sponsored 400
needy students for education and settlement in profession. The news was really
encouraging and inspiring.

I think newspaper is very much helpful to a person.
It provides information on day to day happenings in the society. It helps a
person to keep updated and connects a person globally. It also improves
language skills.

In my country, newspaper is the face of society. It
covers all type of news like political, social, sports, Bollywood and others.
It keeps people updated by providing local, national as well as international
news. People feel connected to the whole world through newspaper.

Due to increasing competition, these days a number
of techniques are adopted, like the most popular one is door to door marketing.
Another one is circulation of newspapers in schools and third one is
advertising. These all techniques promote circulation to a greater extent.

213. What is the role of advertisement in promotion
of business?
Advertisement plays a vital role in promotion of a
business and providing knowledge of a product to the consumers. The newspaper
circulation helps everyone to know about the product while television directly
tells about the product in every home.

The only disadvantage, I feel, is that a number of
products of different brands create confusion for a consumer and sometimes it misleads
customers. Many times, I have seen, cheap products are sold through ads.

many ads?
I think, it is very difficult to choose for the best
option after watching advertisements as every advertisement is attractive and
shows best about the features. But one can visit different outlets of a product
and can see and try and then select the best. Despite of it, one can speak
about the product to different people to know about the best product.

Business and advertisement has a direct relation
these days. Business is supposed to be in the market due to advertisement. The
popular mediums of advertisement are TV, newspaper, magazines, internet and
Facebook. All these are direct mediums to speak about the product. Nowadays in
fact FM radio has also become the face of youngsters.

promotion of products?
Celebrities act as role models and icons for people in
the society. They have a great face value. People follow their words and acts. That
is why, companies appoint celebrities as brand ambassadors to increase their
product’s sale value.

218. Do you think art is important in our life, like
painting and sculpture-making?
Arts like painting and sculpture-making help a
person to express his thoughts and feelings. These activities give expression
to imagination. They enhance innovation and creativity. That is why they are
important in our life. It also helps people to establish a career which is
greatly appreciated and admired.
219. Did you draw anything when you were in the
school?
Yes, I made a beautiful painting when I was in class
6th. It was scenery. The painting was appreciated by my class
teacher and it was displayed on the student art board for a week.
220. Are there any art galleries and museums in your
home town?
Yes, there is an art gallery and museum in my
hometown. It is located in sector-10 near fine arts Colleges. Fine arts
students and other artists display their exhibits in it and time to time, the
government organizes functions and exhibitions there.
221. What is the difference between an art gallery
and a museum?
An art gallery is a place where art works of those
people are kept who are alive however museum is a place where art work is
related to history and is of people who have passed away. Most of the things
there are souvenirs and antiques.
BICYCLE
222. Is bicycle a good transport?
Bicycle is a fuel saving and environment friendly
vehicle. Firstly, it does not require diesel or petrol, so it saves the fuel.
Secondly, it doesn’t create pollution. Along with this, it is also safe and
convenient to ride for short distances. So in my opinion, bicycle is the best
transport in my country.
223. Do you think that there should be separate lane
for bicycles?
Definitely, there should be a separate lane for
bicycle riders. This will facilitate bicycle riders to ride on roads
comfortably and conveniently without the fear of heavy vehicles. Children also
use bicycle to reach their school. So, it is necessary to have separate lanes
for bicycle riders.
224. Why should a child have bicycle?
Riding
bicycle is a type of exercise. In addition to this, children enjoy riding. Many
times, I noticed that children think that as their parents move in their own
vehicle to their office, so they also feel proud to ride on their bicycle to
their school. So, this gives them a sense of independence in driving a vehicle,
riding bicycle is also a first step in driving a vehicle in a child’s life.
225. Is bicycle a popular means of transport in your
country? (why/why not)
Yes, these days, it is becoming a popular means of
transport in my country. These days, people of all ages love to ride bicycle.
Most of the people are now aware that riding bicycle is not only helpful for
their health but also for environment. So, to save both, they use bicycle for
short distances.
226. What other means of transport are popular in
your country?
In my country both public as well as private
transport system is popular. Public transport includes buses, auto rickshaws,
trains and taxis. Whereas private vehicles are two wheelers like scooters and
motor bikes and four wheelers are cars, along with this, airbuses are also
becoming popular these days.
227. Does popularity of transport depend on the age
group in your country?
I don’t think so. Most of the people in my country
take transport according to their comfort, convenience and affordability. Every
individual has his or her own choice of transportation people like to travel in
all types of transports.
