 MAY 2024 REAL EXAM STATEMENT

 

Some people feel that the private lives of celebrities should not be openly shared by the media.

 

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

 

Celebrities are people who gain millions of likes, subscribes and support from their fans, for their work and contribution in fields they are associated with. It is quite normal for people seeking every opportunity to know about their favorite stars or public figures. I am largely agree to the idea that life of celebrities should not be openly shared in media while I am partly agree that people deserve to be known about lives of their favorite stars.

 



First reason why I think, their life should not be exposed to all openly since they are also human beings, they are also free to make mistakes, they also take wrong decisions. They are not perfect; they are also work in progress. But when their mistakes or wrong selections are shared publicly, they feel humiliated, they face tough times, wherever they go, they have to confront real heat and hatred from people who event do not know that under which circumstances, they had to take such decision. Thus, it is really challenging for celebrities to face such public sharing of their life.

 


Second monumental point is this, celebrities constantly live under enormous pressure because they are aware of the notion that they are always being chased by media. They don’t feel free and can’t live their authentic life. They pay heavy price by surrendering their freedom just because they are celebrity. For example, our favorite TV stars can not walk on roads like others, can not buy things like others and can not taste their favorite meals since people and media will follow them everywhere. This much chase is highly detrimental for celebrities’ mental well-being.


 

On the contrary, there is one reason that causes me to say that its people who make someone a public figure, if a celebrity has no check on his life, then he may be behaving irresponsibly which will give a wrong impression to countless youths and they will as a result imitate him in their personal life. If celebrities are under monitoring of media, it will keep them on track. For example, it is the power of media that keeps public figures on right career path since they know, one wrong move can cause wrapping up of their entire career hence they value their position and their status. Therefore, media should share celebrities’ life with common people.

 

In the nutshell, largely I agree that celebrities should be given freedom to live their life in their way and they should not be chased by media everywhere, their life should not be openly told to people. However, one reason why I think their life should be shared with common people since it keeps celebrities behave in a genuine, respectful and civilized manner.
