IELTS WRITING PART 2 | 4 MARCH 2021 REAL EXAM ESSAY FULLY SOLVED | DISCUSS BOTH VIEWS TYPE

4 March 2021 IELTS EXAM ESSAY FULLY SOLVED

Some people think that school should reward students who show the best academic results while others believe that it is more important to reward students who show improvements. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

A possible answer to this task:

A diversity of opinions exists that who should be rewarded at school the students who come in merit or those who show distinct improvements in their level consistently. There is a part of society that opines that academically-strong pupils should be acknowledged since it will foster the culture that best are appreciated in society while those who raise their voice about rewarding students with incremental growth in studies are justified as it will make them motivated about further progression. In the end, I will share my personal viewpoint as well.

Appreciating students due to their academic excellence is a viewpoint that is quite right since in real life, only those who perform best out of crowd, get excellent output in various parts of life. Means to say, one has to outperform others to demonstrate his skills. For example, in a class of 30 students if a student has given his maximum attention to perform better at exam then naturally his efforts must be recognized to nurture his ability to outwork others. Hence, the idea of appreciation students on basis of their scholastic achievements is quite correct.

While giving reward and recognition to students who are improving constantly in studies are also deserve to be acknowledged because life is all about learning consistently. With this attitude, such students will develop a positive self-image and will soon show better results. For example, in a class if a student is getting better and better in routine in certain skill and if no one is appreciating him for this, soon he will lost his momentum and nothing better will come out of his performance. Thus, the approach of rewarding students on basis of their steady growth is a positive strategy that yields handsomely in long-run.

This essay has discussed why giving prizes to pupils who perform excellent in studies is a good idea as it spreads the approach that meritocracy is something that prevails while recognizing steady improvements in pupils also make them able to realize their self-worth and inspire them towards consistent learning. Eventually, I personally believe that giving appreciation to students on basis of their regular progress is a wonderful strategy as in life; every one learns according to his own speed thus learning must be appreciated as a result, it produces lasting results.
