Many people work long hours, leaving very little time for leisure activities.

Does this situation have more advantages or more disadvantages?

SAMPLE ASNWER

A wide section of society today prefers to work day after day by leaving less and less time for recreation. This has become a new normal to work relentlessly. This situation offers more negatives than positives, I will share them in this paragraph.

First and foremost, the primary disadvantage of working more and more is, it leaves insufficient time for the person to rejuvenate himself and turns him into a money-making machine. This is true that individuals need money to run their life but they don’t only need money, they require pleasure, happiness, travel, relations and some personal time on daily basis. For example, if a person is not having time to enjoy or feel happy in routine, it can cause him serious issues like depression, feeling of loneliness and disinterest about life. Thus, working long hours without keeping time for refreshment makes a person dull, sometimes house of various mental and physical illnesses.

Second drawback of working for long shifts regularly is, a big imbalance in social and family life. Such as, a person is a social animal, he needs certain things in him to be a good member of society. When he has less or no time to participate in social or family functions, he will start feeling ignored or worthless as far as his social or family life are concerned. For example, if a man is working all the time, when will he attend his children school functions, birthday parties and events at neighbours? Eventually, he will stop being an integral part of the society and family which is a huge loss at his end. Therefore, only work without having adequate time for society and family makes the person’s life imbalanced.

Last but not the least, this situation has a positive side too, when an individual work for long hours, it makes him able to earn good amount of money which in return gives him confidence to have a financial security. Such as, he can afford a comfortable life for himself and family. He can manage to have nice clothes, luxuries and best possible facilities at his doorstep. For example, one of my friends Chetan works during weekdays as well as weekends, however he finds almost no time for his leisure but he makes handsome money from his both jobs and able to earn a rich life for himself and all family members. Therefore, staying engaged in work for long hours provides an individual the opportunity to live life with healthy finances.

In conclusion, this essay has discussed that in today’s era working for long hours bring more demerits to a person’s life than causing good things to him.
